Product Description
Many words don't follow basic decoding rules and are taught in pre-k and kindergarten classrooms as 'sight words', 'instant words', 'high frequency words' or 'star words.' A new reader finds sight words very frustrating until they are memorized. A good reader will be able to instantly recognize sight words without having to 'figure them out.' Preschool Prep Company makes learning sight words fun and easy by implementing the technique used in their other award winning DVDs (Meet the Letters, Meet the Numbers, Meet the Shapes and Meet the Colors). Now childreen can master sight words witht the same rapid speed that they learned letters, numbers, shapes and colors! Preschool Prep DVDs have won over 25 national awards and are used in thousands of schools! You will be amazed at what your little one can learn.

1 out of 5 stars Not what I wanted   August 27, 2010

My son was bored the second I started the DVD. I found this DVD to be slow and not that interesting. It maybe for others, but not for my son and I.

2 out of 5 stars VERY BASIC-Get Leapfrog instead   August 11, 2010

I have purchased Your baby can read, Leapfrog and now this..this is wayyyyyy to slow to keep a childs atten. Mine is 4, starting prek next week, knows some words, but not reading yet, he's not a genius, but by no means slow either. Leapfrog was definately a better buy..the phonics, word factory, etc..we watched the 1st one last night and it is just animated things w/music in background, no storyline, etc..and then it just starts over again, my son says, "we already saw this, can we change it now?" so that was a waste of money. dont' waste your money on this one. My son can watch leapfrog over and over again and not get bored..all it does is repeat the words over and over, doesn't use them in sentences, give examples, etc..just repetition-BORING!

5 out of 5 stars We had a lot of luck   August 5, 2010

I originally checked out Meet the Sight Words 2 from the library. My son for some reason loved it. I then got the others. He has learned all 45 sight words - he is 3. I wanted to keep copies at home so that I can put them on to refresh his memory. The series uses images to teach the words(like a wrench man for the word "of" or a lizard made from the word "and") and a lot of repetition before going onto the next word.

We had a lot of success with the series. I thought he would find it boring, but he really liked it.

5 out of 5 stars Fun Summer learning for 3 & 5yr old   July 19, 2010

Purchased this set to see if it might give my son an early-literacy boost before entering Kindergarten this Fall. Upon my first viewing I assumed my kids would find it boring, but both my 3-year-old and 5-year-old love it! My 5-year-old is now reading several of the words independently (there is a "flashcard" option in the opening menu) and the DVDs have been a welcome diversion while the unbearable summer heat is keeping us indoors.

5 out of 5 stars Worth the money   June 14, 2010

I love this video set for my 15 month old daughter. She loves Series1. We have watched #2 a few times and haven't watched #3. so far she loves the first one and acts like she "mouths" the words. For the price, this is the set to start out with instead of spending $250.00 for your baby can read series with all the flash cards.
